**HCCSC FIRST COURSE OF ACTION IN 2020 SHOULD BE?!**

**HCCSC FIRST COURSE OF ACTION IN 2020 SHOULD BE?!**

As I stated several times last year it is no secret that the HCCSC Board needs to regain trust with the citizens of Huntington. I believe that was the number 1 reason why both referendums were voted down. This leaves the city of Huntington, the students of Huntington, and the School Board in a very critical situation.

The process has to start now. They are unable to do another referendum on the school for 2 years so I have been told. So the divide between the School Board and the citizens of Huntington needs to begin to close by building the bridge with the public.

The School Board is trying to open those lines of communication and being transparent by hosting a "Special Work Session" that is Open To The Public at the High School on January 18th, 2020 beginning at 9am! This is a step in the right direction and gives the huge amount of interest demonstrated on Social Media back in November a chance to come and see them try to figure out whats next for the students of Huntington!

I personally believe this is a great move by the School Board, however I believe the first thing they should do in 2020 starting off what could possibly be the most important critical time in HCCSC History is move the School Board Meetings to a central location in Huntington which would be the High School!

I believe that should be the very first thing this School Board needs to do. They must send a strong message to the people of Huntington. The majority of people in Huntington County live in the city of Huntington and they want to make access to what is going on convenient

. I have felt like this for a very long time. If you are wanting to connect tot he people of Huntington, and wanting to re build that relationship and trust with the public it only makes sense to start that process by moving the school board meetings back tot he city of Huntington!

I believe it is a 100% must if we want to move towards the best interest for the students of Huntington County! I do not believe the gap will be closed without doing this. It is something HCCSC must do!
